I have decided to set up this blog with the aim to photography and document the life of our soon to be newest member of the family.
We will at the end of January be the proud owners of a white German Shepherd dog, As per the name of the blog she has had a name given even before we have had her.
a little background on the name
Khaleesi is a Dothraki title referring to the wife of the khal. A khaleesi's status varies greatly from khalasar tokhalasar. She could be very influential, riding next to the khal, or she could be worth practically less than the khal's horse, since the khal's bloodriders would sometimes sleep with the khaleesi, but they would never share the khal's horse.
Known Khaleesi
Daenerys Targaryen, called "Daenerys Stormborn" and "Mother of Dragons".
In the books
It is Dothraki tradition that if a khal dies, his khaleesi must retire to join the crones at Vaes Dothrak, known as thedosh khaleen.
According to the TV series official pronunciation guide developed for the cast and crew, "Khaleesi" is pronounced "Khal-EE-see". According to professional linguist David J. Peterson, however, who was hired to develop the Dothraki language for the TV series, it should be pronounced “KHAH-lay-see,” not “ka-LEE-see.”
